The first definition of Light is something that makes vision possible.

Proverbs 4:18-19 NASB says:

V.18 but the path of the RIGHTEOUS is LIKE THE LIGHT OF DAWN, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.

V.19 The way of the WICKED IS LIKE DARKNESS; They do no know over what they stumble.

Ephesians 5:6-8

V.6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

V.7 Therefore do not be partakers with them;

V.8 for you were FORMERLY darkness, but NOW YOU ARE Light IN the Lord, WALK AS children of Light.

Before you got saved from the kingdom of darkness, you had NO opposition. That’s because the devil already had you. When you gave your heart to Jesus by asking Him into your life, you more than likely experienced something that seemed like everything and everyone was coming against you. That’s because now the Light of Jesus is living in you and all the darkness that you were once accustom to has become very afraid that you will find it out.

**When I first got born again and began to walk with God, I was completely illumined in my spirit man and when I would walk through our home and turn I would see a black streak; like the darkness was fleeing so it wouldn’t be exposed by the Light of Christ now living in me.**

There is ALSO an element of the flesh that you have to overcome with your NEW life in Christ. When you received Him you are washed clean and you begin a journey with Him, where He teaches you how to die to the fleshly desires of your OLD life. Interesting to note here that it’s the easiest thing you do and the hardest thing you do all at the same time. As you are dying to the OLD ways of life at the same time your NEW life in Christ begins to manifest in ways that will be seen by everyone around you.

As you change you’ll begin to give God ALL THE GLORY for ALL THAT HE’S DONE for you. You won’t be able to be quiet about Him NOR WILL YOU WANT TO be quiet about Him. You can’t help yourself.

It’s amazing how God does what He does. In fact, it’s so supernatural that it all happens at the moment you ask Him to come into your life. He not only saves you from hell and the kingdom of darkness; and the separation from Him that comes along with that, but He transfers you into the kingdom of His dear Son.

There is something when you first get born again that begins to happen; it’s almost like the courting period between and man and woman (in this case between Jesus and you).

It’s a period of time where there is so much grace on you that it doesn’t seem that anything can go wrong and when it does go wrong you are quick to give it to Jesus because He is the Author and Perfecter of your faith (Heb.12:2).

It’s the period of time when your love for Him is OFF THE CHARTS and all you want is Him and everything He has for you; you read His Word and worship Him like nobody’s business and run after Him with everything in you.

Then the time arrives for you to be pruned so you can start growing up. It does kind of hurt a little bit and you will ask God “What’s going on?” But I assure you, that He is right there with you, showing you the way to get through the hard place as He begins the process of making you more into the image of His dear Son.

John 15:1-2; 4-5; 8 says, “I AM the true vine and My Father is the vinedresser.

V.2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He PRUNES it so that it may bear MORE FRUIT.

V.4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.

V.5 I AM the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

V.8 My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

We are Light bearers and Fruit bearers. How does fruit grow? It takes just the right amount of LIGHT and WATER, THEN comes forth the FRUIT.

When you get saved or born again (pick your term) and you begin to read the Word; you are watering your heart and renewing your mind. The bible refers to your heart as being like soil in Mark 4.

What happens when you read the bible? Your thoughts begin to change for the good and Joy fills your heart; then you begin to grow the FRUIT of Righteousness and all of the FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT in Galatians 5:22-23 become a possibility and then reality. Jesus IS your Righteousness; but we still grow into it, because we grow up into Him. (Eph.4:15)

What happens after that; the Light of Christ springs forth and people begin to see that there’s a change in you and more importantly the devil sees that you’re learning WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST and he becomes very afraid of you.

** There have been times when people that I’ve been talking can’t look at me, but IT’S NOT BECAUSE OF ME; The Light of Christ in me was exposing something hidden in that person’s heart.**

The devil can’t stand to be in the presence of God, and God resides in you.  When you SPEAK His name darkness flees; it’s has to, because at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE will bow and EVERY tongue will confess that He is Lord to the Glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10 Paraphrased)

**I’ve heard people say to the person they’re with; “Why am I always nervous around her?”**

Again, it has NOTHING to do with me or you but it has EVERYTHING TO DO WITH JESUS IN US!

That’s why I said the devil is afraid of you when you find out WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST.

**One day in 1988 when I was going to work at a bank down town; it was an overcast day and no one was on the street except me and two other people (very odd for downtown); they were two men walking toward me and I KNEW by God’s Spirit that they were in the mafia and were wearing $1500.00 suits. One was an elderly man and the other a very robust handsome young man.

The old gentleman was carrying an umbrella and had round green glasses on (to me they looked like John Lennon glasses) and the young man was carrying a briefcase and had a pinstriped suit on. When I walked by; the old man asked the young man “DID YOU SEE THAT LIGHT?”; I heard him say that and I turned around and they were both staring at me. I smiled and went on into the bank. The next morning I asked the Lord what did that man mean when he said, “DID YOU SEE THAT LIGHT?” When I opened my bible it fell open to:

Matthew 5:14; 16  You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

V.16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.**

You ALSO are the light of the world go forth and…

Turn the Light on and shine bright!
