Are all people Christians?

Over the years I’ve heard people say, I’m a Christian because…

I was sprinkled when I was a baby; I’m a Christian because I was born in America and it’s a Christian Nation; I went to church when I was a kid; I was confirmed; I was baptized; I went to Catholic school; I’m a Methodist, Baptist, Mormon, Orthodoxed, etc…Maybe you’ve heard a few.

When people give an excuse it is simply a way to get you to be quiet about the subject of Faith. For many people it is a very uncomfortable subject. Some may also misquote a scripture to get you to be quiet. Some people believe that they have to be perfect or clean themselves up to come to Him; if that’s the case they’ll never come, because there was only one Who is perfect and you need to share that with them. God wants them JUST THE WAY THEY ARE, all messy and messed up so that He can teach them “the Way of Truth.”

**I had a neighbor who was from Romania and when she and her husband moved in I asked them if the knew Jesus as their Savior and the response I got was, “We’re Orthodoxed”, I said in a joyful way, I’m good with that; it’s all about Jesus!”

I said this KNOWING that they weren’t saved (because when someone answers with a religion or denomination their using that as their safety net), but I kept saying “hello” everytime I saw them and would talk with them in the front yard and just be kind. For six years I did this and didn’t judge them, I just loved them. I’m sorry to say that her husband was abusive and they divorced but I still didn’t judge them, I went down THAT road too. She would tell me of her woe’s and I would tell her that I’d pray for her, (well, I prayed for much more than that); I began to pray that God would draw her by His Holy Spirit and reveal Himself to her and show her how very much He loved her and that Jesus was her Savior and the only way to heaven not being orthodox.

Six years later, she came to my front door and said, “can I come in and talk to you?” I said, “Sure, come on in.” When we sat down she began to tell me that she’d been watching, Charles Stanley and Joyce Meyer on the television (inside myself I was saying, Oh, she got saved!) and that she had some questions, so I got my bible and answered her questions with the word of God. I told her to read her bible every day and if she had any questions to ask God; that HE would answer her, then I said, “all you need now is the baptism of the Holy Spirit! She said, “What’s that?” I explained to her that it was the prayer language of heaven and that God has a special language for everyone when they believe; I said, “I CALL IT my “Secret Weapon!”

I said, “When you’re praying in your prayer language the devil can’t understand what you’re saying, then when you run out of English words to speak just start to pray in tongues and you’ll get ALOT DONE in the spirit realm.”

One week later she received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues ALL BY HERSELF in her OWN HOUSE, just she and Jesus!!**

What people really want IS Jesus. They just don’t know it yet. That’s where your testimony comes in handy. Sure PART of your testimony is that you were once lost and now you’re saved, but there is ALOT more to it than that!

For instance, were you depressed, suicidal or rejected, or maybe an addict and God set you free from those things? You fill in the blank____. In order for people to see or understand what they’re missing, they need to hear YOUR testimony of healing, deliverance, freedom, found joy, etc… which only comes through the KNOWLEDGE that He loves them and wants them to live with Him in His heavenly kingdom and of WHO HE IS.

You can do it; you CAN explain it the right way, I guarantee you can, because God has put it IN you, simply share what you know with your friends. I’m sure sometimes you think that you don’t know how to say it. I understand that, I was that way! But over the years I’ve learned that when I THINK I’m not saying it right; God is causing that person that I’m talking to, too hear it the right way. All God needs is a WILLING VESSEL and He’ll take it from there. Remember that He’s God and the One Who knows how to do the miraculous. He saved you, right?

**After my neighbor got saved, she would tell people that I was her pesky neighbor who talked about Jesus all the time and then laughed. She is so grateful that Jesus saved her and revealed Himself to her.**

The truth is, to be a Christian is to be a “Follower of Christ.” That means that you believe IN YOUR HEART that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God. “You confess Him with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you shall be saved.” That’s easy and it’s where the journey begins. Romans 10:9-10

John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and he truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but THROUGH ME.”

Jesus is the ONLY WAY to the Father!

I’ve heard a few people say that they believe that you have to be poor to become a Christian; that’s a lie because Jesus became poor that we may become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for YOUR SAKE He became poor, so that YOU through His POVERTY might become RICH.” (Let’s not confuse HAVING money with the LOVE OF money, but that is another blog.)

God loves you and will not embarrass you, that’s the devils job. Ask God to use you to tell the world about Jesus and He WILL WORK WITH YOU if you’ll share your testimony, share the Word that YOU KNOW and Jesus WILL CONFIRM it with signs that follow.

Mark 16:15-20 says,

V.15 And He said to them “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

V.16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has DISBELIEVED shall be condemned.

V.18 they WILL pick up serpents, and if THEY DRINK ANY DEADLY POISON, it WILL NOT hurt them; they WILL lay hands on the sick, AND THEY WILL RECOVER.”

V.19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

V.20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while THE LORD WORKED WITH THEM, and CONFIRMED THE WORD by the SIGNS THAT FOLLOWED.

You can do it…Jesus is working with you…He is please with you!
